The dismantling is being realized manually by conventional methods and equipment. Special measures for the radiation protection of the personnel and the environment are only required in exceptional cases.
On the basis of a radiological inventorisation, the systems are divided in those which are free of contamination and those where a contact with contamination can not be excluded absolutely because of the operation process.
As far as it is technically possible, the non-contaminated systems are dismantled at first and after some spot checks and control measurements supervised by the person in charge from the radiation protection they will be conventionally disposed of. Afterwards the suspected material will be dismantled, and depending on its quality a kind of decision measurement will be carried out in free release measurement areas by surface contamination monitors or in a free release measurement facility.
The further cutting of plant parts follows at special cutting places and in the outdoor facilities mostly on the spot.

In November 2007 the equipment of the secondary circuit in the turbine hall and in connected auxiliary facilities was mostly dismantled (dismantled mass: about 50.600 tons, i.e. 93 % of the entire mass).
