Guided Tour and Exhibition/Greifswald

Important Notice on the Covid-19 pandemic
From 07 June 2021,  guided tours will be available again for groups of up to 10 people. Please note that visitors need to bring an official, negative covid-test (no self-test, not older than 24h) and will have to wear an FFP2-mask during the tour. If you are fully vaccinated (including the 14-day grace period), the vaccination certificate is valid as proof (also digital). If you have recovered from a corona illness, a confirmation letter from a competent authority must be submitted. Please contact us via mail or phone to arrange an appointment.

Alternatively, online talks about our history, decommissioning, disposal and interim storage can still be requested.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic our information centre will stay closed until further notice!

Discover the inside of a nuclear power plant unit together with our knowledgeable staff on one of our tours.

Unit 6 of the former Greifswald Nuclear Power Plant had almost been completed in 1990 as it was decided to decommission the entire plant. It never contained nuclear fuel and offers a unique opportunity to view a Russian design nuclear power plant.

After an introductory talk, you will receive information on the tour about various power plant components including the reactor with its associated pumps, the steam generator, the pressuriser and much more. We also explain how we dismantle a nuclear power plant unit.

By means of models and original parts, our information centre gives additional information on topics such as nuclear energy, dismantling, final storage and radiation protection.
