EWN Entsorgungswerk für Nuklearanlagen GmbH (EWN) is responsible for the dismantling and disposal of the nuclear power plants in Greifswald/Lubmin (Mecklenburg-West Pomerania) and Rheinsberg (Brandenburg).

In order to fulfill this task, EWN operates several treatment and conditioning facilities as well as an interim storage facility for radioactive materials at the Greifswald/Lubmin site.

With the Federal Ministry of Finance being our sole shareholder, EWN is a fully state-owned company. EWN receives its funding solely from the federal budget and the Federal Ministry of Finance acts as the funding body.
